Opteron or xeon? 2005-04-05 - By Alan Jones
Back Hi James and Bernard,
Unfortunately I'm not on 64bit hardware or OS yet - I've just been doing all my research for when it comes. Gentoo (http://www.gentoo.org) has a very good rep from what I've been reading for stability on 64bit hardware. I'll put together a doc of all the bits and pieces that should make it work. If someone (in London) would like to have me around to mess with a 64bit machine for a weekend to test all this and write up a full doc I'd be more than happy to.
Cheers,
Alan.
