Opteron or xeon? 2005-04-05 - By Oz Adi

we just did a little internal test, we compared a dual opteron 244 1.79GHz
(2GB Ram) with a Dual Xeon 2.66 (2 GB Ram)
on a scene with around 200K hairs, the opteron was about 1 minute ahead of
the xeon...
(we just wanted to check which one starts rendernig the hair first, and let
it render quarter a frame..)
not scientific.. but a test :)
