Free Textures on the nVIDIA site ... 2004-02-03 - By Bill Neumann
Back I found a free collection of high resolution textures available on the nVIDIA developers site. Although the download is pretty big (110 Megs or so), they look like they should be handy. The site says, "A collection of over 200 high-resolution, general-purpose, tiling, production-ready, real-time texture maps in DDS format. Download them and use them in your work!" There is a 4 Kb "Usage Agreement" file there, too, so be sure to download and read it as well. Here's the link:

And here's a link to some tools that allow you to open the DDS files in Photoshop (or GIMP, or any other image utility that supports Adobe format filters) and then save them in whatever format you prefer:

I just finished downloading them myself, so ... time to start viewing / converting files. Hope someone finds this useful.
