Bottom row of the material editor,TS5,6 Has IIR for real time Rendered
Previews.
real-time 3D cards will more or less turn all of TS layouts and preview
layouts in to IIR's.
I would guess ya Need a power house PC to run all that.
real-time 3D cards been around for a while they were just $$$ alot.these
our affordable for us.
RenderFarms has nothing to do with modeling and part of ya post I just
don't get.
We need 3D apps for 3D.
Rendering times and RenderFarms will become a thing of the past
eventually.
real-time 3D cards still need a Render Engine, just Renders really fast.

I wonder how good real-time 3D cards deal with FX " smoke and mirrors "
and all my self, guess will just half to wait and see.
I do really really hope this cards as good as they say.but I agree it's
hard to believe.
This will be as big as landing on the Moon or the invention of the
wheel.A super bowl worth watching where one team hasn't stomped the
other team buy the first quarter.

The bigger question comes down to this then: If, ATI has some how
managed to
pull off doing this in real time, with what looks like 2000 poly plus
GLASS
spheres, and I'm basing that on the fact that I can't see any evidence
at
all of any kind of "low poly edges", and there are 10 of those spheres,
the
why the heck am I bothering with trueSpace at all? Or any of us for that
matter? Or Lightwave or Maya or any of the other 3D programs that are
out
there? I'm only asking this because trueSpace at that point is really
just
wasting my time, because we still can't get a photo-realistic "preview"
when
we're modelling. In fact, I'm not aware of any 3D program that can for
that
matter. I may very well be mistaken, but I've yet to see any game that
had
anything in it that looked this good, so there must be a reason for
that.
Maybe I'm missing something here.

Sincerely, Shawn Bogart
