I think that if I had to choose between the two, I'd pick quality
DOF over quality MB, since the motion blurred things are moving,
after all - which means usually that the eye will fixate on them far less
than they will an element which is stationary and is popping out
because it's too sharp or not blurred proper.

I've very rarely had the luxury of being able to do dof and mb in the
renderer, unfortunately.  There're more than a few projects where I've
had to do both in post and in the end the inaccuracy of the mb or dof
was never at the top of the list of what I'd fix if I had another few days.
