real time rendering 2004-02-01 - By Shawn Bogart
Back Scene is pre-rendered. Were it to actually render all that glass in real time with an IBL (Image Based Light) like that, it wouldn't even come close to 1-2 minutes in trueSpace, let alone anything approaching real time. Were it able to do that in real time, then Hollywood wouldn't be spending big bucks on render farms to make movies. Sorry. But it is a very nice image.
