Hi Peter,
attached you should find a *very old* VB script of mine doing exactly
that. You won't make it run directly since it's based upon a custom
property, but you can see how manipulating vertex colours works. The
script itself is absolutely horrible, the stuff I used to write years
ago. I have a much nicer, function based JScript version around now, but
unfortunately I'm not allowed to distribute it...
