The artist, Brian Taylor, has had his work published on the Cover the 3D
World (along with a feature article) and he now has a coffee table book
about his project.

The tool he uses is....Infini 3D.  No "brand name" renderer....In fact,
it is not even supported or sold anymore and as such is a few years out
of date.  Go through his site and download some of the movies.  The
"making of" section is a wealth of tips on how to make low end tools
yield high end results.  I would stand his work against anyone
elses.....and given that he has been given so much positive press for
his outstanding artwork only shows that it is the artist....not the tool
or the renderer.

So let us all side step to a new paradigm....Given that tS is so much
more than Infini 3D, then with the right artist at the helm, high-end
results are possible.

Thanks,
Dave Angelini

"A lot of the time, that's what produces good results- not the super
high-end renderers."

So Joel you telling me that tS can stand up next to Maya and Sofimage
with it current Engine and produce Realistic Images as if it was
spitting out popcorn seed.
This is like saying that Mario Andretti can win the Indie 500 with a
Factory Engine. Less face it Rendering Engine combine with experience
Artist make good Photo Realistic Images.

Now if I was a Pro and my family depends on my work to feed them, I
would in a heart beat use one of the above Rendering Engine most likely
Mental Ray, I would buy Sofimage for $13,000 and take my family out for
dinner afterward to celebrate.

However I'm not a Pro so I settle for something different.

I sorry tS is OK but less keep it in it's league.

No Offence

I just wanted to chuck in that if you know what you're doing, you can
match the big-name renderers with Truespace's. One of the best renders
I've seen in ages was in the TS gallery this month (Johan Zijffers) that

was done with TS4. He just rendered smart. A lot of the time, that's
what produces good results- not the super high-end renderers.
