Displacement with procedural fractals problem

Displacement with procedural fractals problem

Hello,

We have a problem here at the moment.
When using a 3D fractal or a 2D fractal in the rendertree as
displacement we see a grid structure in the displaced surface. The
fractal pattern is quite large (i.e no fine details).
When we render the fractal as a texture map and blur it in the FxTree
the problem dissapears. The grid structure is not visible when we view
the fractal as RGB.
We heard from a programmer friend that this might be a rounding error in
the fractal shader?

This problem occur when using Fine, Parametric and LDA displacement
methods. Also when we pre-subdivide (dividing) the mesh and set subd
level to very high the problem appears.

Any workaround/solution?

Cheers,
Axel
