Back It's better to buy cards with dual dvi. This way you can always use any monitor because you can just throw a dvi 2 vga adapter on it and use a crt or analog lcd... and of course you can use digital lcd's too.
The important thing to remember is that you can't get a digital signal (dvi) out of a analog (vga) card but you CAN go the other way. Things get a little more complicated than that because people don't like to abide by standards but in general it's a good rule to use imo.
