Back i personally have no programming experience. but a programming friend of mine codes an XSI connection to a 3d engine for a team i am on. we used CustomUserData on points to specify if these points were allowed to be optimized or not in game. so i dont know what he did. but he pretty much stored their local transforms and probably a true/false value.
so what can you do with customuser data? its custom. its your data. so do with it what you want i would assume
