Back I'm going to assume its probably due to the license-ing software or the like. Because I'm giving softimage the benefit of the doubt that they're not holding out on us for a major (pay) version release. Perhaps you need to cross compile XSI binaries and syflex binaries for the license handshake to work for advanced. Who knows? Sufficed to say I'd be a tad purturbed (as would others I assume) if something like this were not the case. I realize my academic license costs nearly nothing so I have little right to complain. But I'd immagine the customers paying for the full commercial advanced licenses would be quite perturbed as well. But as I said, there's no reason to think this wont be resolved in the near future.
Soft hasn't let me down yet (except for that one time with that thing... and they didn't show up... and I was like "yo! thats not cool!" and they were like "nuh uh... you didn't go there." and I was like "oh yes I did!" and then we didn't talk for a WEEK!).
