Yeah. Remember that hair only comes from the hull points, even if the mesh
is subdivided. It's quite a long way around though. You need to strip
through the poly list getting vertex pointers for each poly bumping an index
every time you visit a vertex you haven't yet visited. This index then
points into the position array of the geometry for the position of the root
of the strand. Like I said, fiddly.
