fg map limitation?

fg map limitation?

If you generate your fg map with "append to file", you don't need to render ALL
frames. Change your frame step to 30 for example ( depend on your animation ).
I finished a fg animation of 900 frames ( very boring ;-p  ) without pb.

 Subject: fg map limitation?

 hello ladies and gentlemen.

something that's been bothering me for a while is now coming back at me,
maybe someone can help.

a longer scene - approx. 500 frames. all FG.

usually I calculate scenes like that twice.

first with bad antialiasing settings to generate the fg map, than full aa
with frozen fg map.

works like a charme in shorter scenes.

now, if I'm doing longer scenes everytime I reach approx. 270mb of fg map
size, the render crashes and I can't go on.

it won't render any further and it won't take the so far generated map for
further rendering.

only solution up to now was splitting the scenes up in smaller parts,
rendering with overlaps and doing a fade between them.

this I could live with, having to do one or two scenes like that.

but now I have a lot of longer scenes coming on and I wonder if there's
another workaround this, cause setting up all this scenes, different names etc.
would be pain in the you know where.

 thx,
