Subject: Tail question setup and mixer poses

Hi,

I've been reading up on the tail creation, and having a couple of questions
though.

Main one is the best way to go with predefined "states". Say I have a character
with several tailsets linked to it, and I want to have poses from this entire
rig for use in the mixer. So I have the basepose with the tails straight, a
pose of the character crouching with the tails hanging down etc. Hope you get
the point here..

Now when animating the character, setting poses in the mixer, blending etc.,
the tails move along with dynamics, but don't "flow" into the "end"position
saved with the pose.

So do I mix FK/IK animation with the springop dynamics, or is there another way
of approaching this? I have this character coming up that has a head with
"rasta"tentacles (some kind of cartoony alien) and tails would be awesome for
the sec. animation for this "hair". Only thing to figure out is how control the
tails so it does it's bouncy thing inbetween the poses, but will end in the
pose saved for use in the mixer. It's would be very easy to "block" poses and
have the dynamics figure out the rest ;)

Hope I get this explained well enough, want to give this a testrun this weekend
so any insights are welcome.

Anything on plotting springops/tails/ears etc. was on the list lately, but I
cannot seem to find it anymore. So if any1 can get me on the right track for
those notes would be great too.

cheers,

rob
