Hi Mike,

I have been using a free tool some years ago to capture screen to
videos. It was able to encode full screen or portion of it in any codec
but limited to 800*600 and 15 fps. Unfortunately I didn't kept it on my
disks and I can't remember its name but I think you still can find it
browsing Google.

Now, I don't use software capture anymore. Instead, I use a DV camcorder
analog input to record directly from my video card and. It records in DV
codec on miniDV tapes. It takes less space on disks and I found it more
easy to manage, store, and dub.
If you already have a camcorder with analog input, you may try this.

Emmanuel

Subject: [TSML] recommendations for screen video captures?

I was looking for some experiences with specific packages for capturing
video off the screen.

I was thinking in terms of doing tutorials with audio from the mic input
of my sound card.  Also has anybody had any experience with capturing
streaming video?

Mike in Albuquerque
