particle instancing and 4.2

Firday evening, so I know it'll be pretty quiet on list, but.. has anyone come
across any bugginess with 4.2's instancing on particles? Its acting extremely
flaky for me on my station.. rendering wise and OGL as well.. Display wise, I'm
using Bounding boxes to give me an approx of particle size, and every so often
more than half of the particles lose their bounding box visual..

Thats no issue to work around, however the next problem is a little more
perplexing..

The first time I pull a render with instances, no problems, but if I try to re
-render or even use a region, and the instances disappear, only to be replaced
by a giant copy of the original instance sitting at the origin. Funny thing is,
I've physically moved all of my instance sources way off screen, so they don't
even show up in the render.

and its not only on my home machine,  but on other machines at a few of my
other workplaces...

Is this a known bug?

happy weekend all!

Adam
