Hi. Im rather new to TS
How good is TS6.6(combersion pack 2.1) to import dwg formats? I'am an architect and I sometimes have lots of problems with older = versions of TS at the time of bringing autocad files into the program = for rendering them...
would the new TS6.6 import complex dwg stuff without problems? or does = it still have some bug?
The importer works pretty well for the geometry and a lot of the 2D items. However, you should be aware that the conversion pak does not maintain layers as items (named in scene editor), instead it creates layers for every object such as object1, object2...... and loses all your organization that you set up in your CAD program. This makes it suitable for small drawings and in my opinion useless for large models since the list is huge and the items have no name. Imagine every window mullion being its own entity without any ties to the others. This is my opinion and you may find it acceptable, just a warning! You are far better using 3DS format and DXF as a second option, MHO! Good Luck.
