4.2 instability 2005-01-14 - By kim@(protected)
Back Generally speaking, 4.2 is pretty stable. I know, this doesn't help you a lot but what I'm trying to say here is that if 4.2 is stable in most areas, either you're working in an area that's unstable or your scene has,in some way, become corrupt or unstable. You're already in touch with support, if it was me I'd continue down that route for now, provide them with scenes and repro steps so they can track the problem down.
I've been pushing 4.2 pretty hard these last few months. On the one hand it's been pretty good, on the other, I've had a couple of times when it's been problematic. One was a corrupt scene, one was an optimisation thing. I also had a motion blur bug which Halfy tracked down for me - thanks Halfy. I had help from support on all of these and there's no doubt their input sped the tracking process down a lot.
