Hi Mark,

Below the width:height ratio setting in Render Globals/Resolution, you
will find another two settings called "Device Aspect Ratio" and "Pixel
Aspect Ratio".

Before you change the resolution, ensure that you note the values in
these two settings. Then uncheck the "Lock Device Aspect Ratio" box. You
can now type the particular values that you want into these two settings
and your render should look as you were hoping it would.
