If you are like me and don't generally follow the Caligari community forums,
then this post from Roman should provide some interest:

At the moment we are hard at work at TS7 but it seems that there are some
genuine issues with backward plug-in compatibility we need to address. I can
assure you we will do so if we can. If we can not fix compatibility issues
with some older plug-ins we will at least remove them from our site.
We will also release in a few days TS6.6 service patch, though I am not sure
it will solve the problems related to broken plug-ins reported here.

The entire thread was on the subject of Caligari selling plugins on its
web-site that are not compatible with tS6.6, though they do state that they
are for tS5.2. The entire thread can be found here:

Of particular note is a reference to the imminent release of the tS6.6
service pak. Whoohoo! Finally, my spotlight problem will be fixed!!!!

P.S. Anyone note that the proTeam subscription cost is rising from $495 to
$895 in 2004!!! Ouch!
