tS6.6 Generates Errors Then Crashes 2003-12-10 - By John Gaubatz
Back Hi All, I just started playing with my work copy of tS6.6 here at work and discovered that it is rather crash prone. Though tS6.5 was crash prone on this computer as well. So I am wondering if there may be some conflicts on my computer that may be causing this problem. There are times where I move a face or rotate it, sit back to think and tS generates some errors, logs it, then shuts down. It has crashed with my hand not even on the mouse or keyboard. I am doing nothing complex, just trying to start a model. One cube is all it takes to crash. I am not sure if it crashes always at the same time after starting tS or after a certain number of commands.
My system: Pentium 4 1.70GHz 1 Gig Ram 3Dlabs Wildcat VP870 OpenGL optimized for Autodesk Inventor W2Kpro SP3 Novell 4.81 Loads and loads of software
In tS, I have the display set to OpenGL. Has anyone had problems with Novell interfering with tS? Could my video card be causing the conflict? Or is some other software package I am running stand a better chance of causing a problem? I hope someone out there can give me some ideas or direction and I will post my findings as I discover them.
Thanks, John
