Back Has anyone tried the dot XSI importer for Max 6.0 off the softimage web site? There doesnt seem to be any info about it and I cant actually get it to give any decent results. I exported a scene from max to the dot XSI format which worked really well but anything i try to take back comes out as a completely screwed up mesh. Basically the solid shows up but its as if the points and faces exist but no edges. When previewing in wireframe nothing shows up and as soon as you try to grab vertices all the faces dissappear. Even a primitve sphere is completely screwed up. Putting any modifier on top seems to get rid of the mesh apart from a few mutantly conjoined faces left hovering in the middle. It doesnt matter if its exported as triangles or poly's.

i wrote that tool back in xsi2.0 i think it was..
it is a really primitive tool all it does is the following * finds out where the holes are by quering edges that are neighbored by only one polygon *duplicates the set of edges, collapses them and dissolves the point in the center... so you see it is primitive.... freeze your history if you got a very open hole it will make a funny shape i had forgotten about this j
