Explosion causes XSI to explode.. 2004-12-17 - By Eriya Ito
Back Hi list, Another particle problem here.
I have a scene, a cylinder as an emitter and explosion with only smoke, that's all. The scene has about 80 frames. (I don't think number of frames matters here...) After some test renders, I restarted my machine and opened that scene again but somehow it just crashed with no possible reason. XSI shuts down or freezes.
I remade the scene from scratch, ALL over again and this time, all I did was I opened a different scene and re-opened the explosion scene.... and CRASH! I haven't worked on that scene for that short period of time and somehow, after couple of minutes, the scene was corrupted and was causing XSI to crash.
I made a new scene and redid most of the settings (offsetting the start time, particle rate, rotoscope, etc.) but this new scene has no problem. I tried merging the 'corrupted' scene but XSI freezes everytime. I deleted the explosion ptp files but when I open the 'corrupted' scene, it re-generates a 1KB ptp files.
Had someone else faced the same problem before? I can make a third scene (of course, it would be faster this time to achieve the result because I almost have the settings in my mind because I had worked on it twice already...:)
Thanks for any help. Eriya
