XSI4.2 Hair Export 2004-12-14 - By ?????

Hello list,
I have just started using version 4.2 and worked on some hair modeling.
I did some work on hair made by curves.
However, when I export the setup model (.emdl data) and import it back again,
the hair spline is gone.
Actually there is this thing in the explorer that is named "Hair Spline" but
the icon is different and nothing is shown in the views. When you open it up to
see the properties, there are only Kinematic transformation and material
properties only, nothing else.
This never happened in the former versions, but has anyone else experienced the
same situation?
