Back Hello,
As always mental ray and motion blur has it's problems at times. I remember from the old Softimage 3D days the bug that appeard when you had motion blur and transparency. Somehow that seems to be the case todat as well, not always, but sometimes.
The 2D motion blur output shader isn't an option since it doesn't generate a correct alpha. The "so called" fast motion blur isn't fast at all sometimes. OGL can't be used since renderfarms doens't have highend nVidia cards. Projecting the non MB rendered frames back onto the geomery causes artifacts if the mesh isn't dense enough (even then it doens't work properly sometimes).
I know that people are using MB (I am lucky sometimes and can get it to work). Or I'm using the RE:Vision "real motion blur", which works in some cases but can cause deformation in the image when objects are passing by.
So... any tricks? Especially for those of you out there that works with HD or 2K resolution work. Are there hidden features somewhere? :) It would be a good discussion to so how people are using it and what solutions you have.
best regards stefan andersson
