animating weight maps

animating weight maps

has anyone made a script/scop for animating weight maps? I'm doing some
particles who's rate is controled by a weight map and running into the
feature where by you can't animate the rate.
Tex map and animating the 'base weight' are not options.
What I am thinking of is a scop with a slider that blends the weights of
2 existing Wmaps and applies the result to a 3rd Wmap.
I just don't want to re-invent the wheel if this already exists.

cheers,
phil b
