fog & batch rendering

Hello fellows,

i wonder how it is possible to exclude the actual background from
beeing affected by deph fog (volumic)
i have such a depth fog and set up some render passes. but, when i
render the diffuse pass (the one that should have foggy objects) the
black background gets fogged as well. also the alpha channel is
affected. but i have a different background, where this pass should be
comped over. so the fog in the black background doesnt work. is there
any button i missed in the docs and helps?

another question for batchserv rendering. is this cute little proggi only
available for essentail and advanced user? i own foundation.
if so, i wonder how it is possible to have a bunch of scenes rendering
overnight? i looked briefly at the batch rendering itself, found
zillions of options i can change.. but if i want to start rendering on
several jobs overnicht i have to write a batch for doing this??

thanks&ciao
