TS 6.* bugs? 2003-11-22 - By Dave Angelini
Back Cobus,
tS6.6 has its share of bugs. The most annoying of which is that spot light settings get changed whenever you save a scene (the focus and position can change). This affects any spot light that is parented to another object. Two saves in a row will reduce the spot lights focus to a point from which there is no recovery. Also, animating a spot light produces the same issue. Other bugs are that the delete key in the KFE does not work in the layer mode.
In a private email, Jeff Parish alluded to the imminent release of a service patch that would fix this and other bugs in tS6.6, but a subsequent private email to Roman and Norm after Jeff's departure about the actual release date of this service patch has yet to yield a reply.
At this point, I don't know where Caligari stands on the release of a service patch to address these bugs.
An interesting point is that Jeff was always there to assure the user that Caligari heard their concern and was working to address it. He was always quick to reply regardless of the time or day of the week. Caligari's silence to my email sent last Thursday only points out how much he will be missed.
Thanks, Dave Angelini
