Back You can probably acheive this with Nurbs surfaces (a ball and a cube), do edit Nurbs -> intersect surfaces. Use the created curve on surface and emit from that curve. Keep the construction history on, then animate the ball and the curve will update as the ball goes through the wall, the particles will be emitted accordingly.
Good luck

>Hi, I have a little problem that I am trying to get a handle on, bascially I need to set something up that will alow me to emit particles based on the intersection of two objects. I would also like to know if its actually possible to also emit along the intersection line. (i.e. a small ball flying into and through a large box, as the ball passes into the box particles are emitted first from a point then from a grawing and shrinking ring as the ball passes through the surface ..... just curious if this is possible either with the standard tools, with MEL or would I need to goto the SDK. >cheers gary. > >PS: I would just like to say a big thank you to all the kind folks that have helped me out with tips and tricks over the last 6 months, my Maya work / understanding has moved on by leaps and bounds and i`m very much indetted to everyone one on the list .... thank you all. > >-- ---- ---- ---- ---- ---- ---- ---- ---- ---- ---- ---- --- >List-help: <mailto:listar@(protected)?Subject=help> >List-unsubscribe: <http://www.highend3d.com/maya/listserver/> >List-subscribe: <http://www.highend3d.com/maya/listserver/> >List-archive: <http://www.highend3d.com/maya/archive/> > > > >
