Well, that product would be Quest3D. A fraction of the cost of Virtools and
has physics built in, plus other cool things too, like Pathfinding,
DynamicShadows, etc. currently uses DX8 but i think DX9 support is either out
in a few weeks or soon.
NOthing can beat Director for what it offers...no other package is as
comprehensive as Director. Plus this "visual programming" thing in Virtools
and Quest3D takes a while to warm up to.
But as far as visual programming Quest3D is giving Virtools a run for their
money. Quest3D is currently the envy of the real time web based 3D community
IMO.
