Remember those cool animations AT&T were creating for their Broadband TV
commercials.

One of them had a spherical AT&T globe spinning really fast with thread
winding up all over it.

I always wondered how they accomplished that and at the time I only had used
MAX for graphics which is very hard to create the illusion of a shape
growing along a path.  In Maya and especially with animated extrusion
capabilities, that trick seems more feasible now.
