I am developing a videofeedback demo that grabs the image of the stage and feeds it back into a texturemap on a mesh. This is nothing new of course. http://www.iotic.com/ ka'aba
but the main performance problem is that in order to work, the 3d sprite must be dts=false. that makes it much slower. So i need to find a way to get the image from the stage with 3d sprite using dts = true. I'll give both of these tricks a try. Any other suggestions greatly appreciated.
here is the current state of my 3d video feedback www.biomorphica.com/shockwave/3dVideoFeedback/FeedBackUI.htm
this is merely v1.1 and is very alpha. Half the UI doesn't work yet. Like the mesh Deformers are not hooked up, and you'd better avoid the sampling Rect for now. The Save was actually working in flash, but now it has shorted out. oi. It is a newborn ans still kinda wobbly.
The way to have fun with it is to spin the UVW tiling or better yet, go in Figure Texture, and slide the the texture transforms - rotation is good. Use the blend to fade in the blendConstant on layer 2. The twiddle the other texture transforms. The Feedback Imaging is not so great either. The inks (when copypixeling between the stage and the new bitmap) actually work but they mostly suck. and while the back ground ink is also hooked up, it doesn't appear to have much of an effect.
