Rather strange director error - help please! 2004-03-24 - By Barry Swan
Back Hiya, we've done an installation that includes video playback and some MIAWs. Nothing extremely complicated, and certainly not using any 3D, but apparently 'after a while' (great error report client!) they get this error:
SISGL Warning: Can't Create a New Surface Out of video memory. This program will exit.
Now, SISGL is obviously 'summat'graphicslanguage, and the error is clear enough that the card has run out of video ram. But um errrr, why? 2D operations (yer standard imaging lingo and sprite stuff) shouldn't spazz up VRAM. Video may, but I don't think we are doing anything out of the ordinary.
Does anyone have any ideas? If it'll help I'll try to find out the machince spec / graphics card and the code we use to play video.
Soz about the rather un-game related question but I left the normal lists long ago through annoyance. Spank me if you must :)
