Back Thanks.
Elvira, Gyuri, Partial extrude was indeed the simplest method and worked well. I'm embarrassed that I didn't know it was there after working with Maya for over 4 years.
Aleksander, Your method, while a bit complicated is extremely intriguing. I've had need to pefom curve deformation on objects in the past and this sound very suitable to teh task. I'm not sure I understand your procedure though. I can get the wire deformer to affect the lattice, but I'm not sure I understand the use of the blend shape. Thanks again.

Make your profile curve, go into component mode and select one of the edit points, then go into options of Edit Curves->Detach Curves and check off "keep orginal". After this operation you end up with 2 curves and your original, you can delete one of the new curves. Use the other one by going into its channel box and animating the parameter[0] under the Inputs tab to make the curve grow. > > Now you can extrude using this curve as your profile but make sure all the history is there. > > If you have any questions about this, let me know. > > Elvira > > Joey Ponthieux <j.g.ponthieux@(protected)> wrote: > Hello, > Is there any way to deform an object along a curve.
