3d sprite interfering with the lovely fields again...

This time, I want to have a field made visible that you can edit.
The pain part is I want the newly visible field to have the focus on it.
And yes... keyboardFocusSprite doesn't work - you have to click on the
field to begin typing.
Anyway found the (most likely obvious) solution to this?
