I've jsut ran out an issue here last week : if you texture might contains white borders, then forget about the importFileInto. Indeed I've found no way to disable the trimWhiteSpacing when importFileInto-ing a bmp member... which leads to texture with strange sizes :?/ The only workaround I've found so far was (thanks Kerry here!) to use a dummy linked bmp member, with it's trimWhiteSpace property set to FALSE, then to duplicate this member then setting its fileName.
