Well well, I'd say the shockwave3d engine, is designed to be able to do
WAY more than look at your new mp3 player in 3d before buying it, and
was intended to do way more than that.

I think it was just a matter of lack of time in the end. The exporter
sdk is filled with info hinting at the possibility, there's even a
function called something like setNumberOfUVLayers, it's just documented
that it fails if you give it anything <>1 at the time being.
