Model not looking right on export from 3dsmax 2004-02-25 - By NoiseCrime
Back Hi,
Does the problem go away if you move the camera closer to the model? If so that would suggest the automatic model resource LOD is set, and you'd want to disable it. Don't get this confused with the LOD modifier as that is model based. Whereas those models exported to w3d usually have a model resource LOD.
Other than that, there might be a slim chance that the model is corrupt in some way that the exporter can't export parts of it, but I would have thought that unlikely.
When you do export, make sure to set the geometry compression to full, and turn on any debugging information as that will tell you if there are any issues with the model, shader, textures etc.
