Unfortunately QT and Real are the only streaming video options, other
than using Flash and it's codecs.

Real allows you to grab the .image directly from the member, and with
both QT or Flash you'll have to use them as non-DTS and crop the stage
to get the image.  Of course, non-DTS is quite slow ( I had a sample 3D
scene with a QT video playing beside it, and even just switching
from.DTS to non-DTS state causes quite a slow-down, without even
executing the additional code to crop, create the texture etc ).

A QT member doesn't have a .image property as, from what I can remember
from a previous explanation, it could be playing a number of times on
the stage... a good compromise here for future versions might be to
allow .image access for the first sprite's image that uses the member
only ( so if you only use one sprite to utilise the member, then
everything would work OK.

Here's a quick example of QT in 3D...
http://www.candointeractive.com/web3d-fr ( click on one of the movie
buttons ).

A Flash member's .image property only gets the frames non-live image, so
no action scripting is available via it, hence the need for having to
use the non-DTS ( ie slow ) mode.

You can't grab the image of the Windows Media video, nor can it be made
non-DTS, so there's no way at all of using the built in Windows Media
member with Shockwave 3D unfortunately.

I'm not sure of any other Xtras that would allow this in Shockwave.  If
you find out, let me know...
