As to why 3DPI wont hold it's registration data I don't know, but
regarding getPref(), I get the same error if I run getPref() as
written, but not if I set it to a variable or put it to the messagewin
viz:
put getPref(prefFileName)
or
sumVar = getPref(prefFileName)
