XSI4 Foundation crashes on startup 2004-08-13 - By Matthias Worch

I'm trying to get the trial version of XSI4/Foundation to run on my work
machine, but it immediately crashes after startup with the message
"Successfully saved the sequence before system failure. Restart the application
to recover the sequence."
It's a fairly standard P4/GeForceFX system running WinXP with DX9.0b, and it
doesn't have any problems with Max and Maya. Any ideas what might be going
wrong or where I could look for a solution to this problem?
