You shouldn't have to adjust the playRate at all.  The bonesPlayer (and
I'm pretty sure the keyframePlayer) is already time-based.  So a
playRate of 1.0 will play at exactly the same speed on every machine.
With a higher framerate it will just be smoother.

So for you project, you should just set the playRate to a fixed step,
and leave it there.
