Back interesting thought. They get a uv coordinate in order to calculate colour so there's no reason I can see off the top of my head why they shouldn't work for the fxtree too.

Ah, I see your point, which is why you can't play with them in the FxTree either. Although it seems like it wouldn't take too much work to replicate the Texture Shaders as FxTree Source Clips which do seem to be calculated before render time. They could possibly shadow the values of a rendertree node. A pixel resolution would have to be specified for the FxTree as well I guess. Not for the time being though! I would think it unlikely, Adam. It's easy enough to get image information but the procedural stuff comes out at render time, not before.

Hi, I'd like to control the Rate of Particle Emission using a Procedural texture. It seems that you can only use a Bitmap Image as a Texture Map Property which seems very limiting. Is there a way around this? thanks, Adam.
