We started off our last project using SourceSafe, and about halfway through
switched over to
AlienBrain, and it made quite a difference, especially with speed. I work
remotely, and it really
made a difference. There are also plugins for maya, photoshop and windows
explorer to add
alienbrain functionality right into those programs. Really nice asset
management system.

Personally, I prefer Alien over other software I've used. You can
download a
evaluation off their website and run it to test it. It's simple to set
up
and get running with any project. Works great for both the programmers
and
for the artist.

How are you finding it?
We've started using it here at JAM, and it seems to do the job pretty
well,
but the amount of content we've got in it is still relatively small.
It'll be interesting to see how well it scales up as project and team
sizes
increase.
I was wondering if anyone had any experience, hints or tips on managing
really _big_ projects... What's the consensus: does Alienbrain cut the
mustard in this field, or are other high end solutions to investigate?
