V4.0 Tail Not rendering correctly with Batchserve

V4.0 Tail Not rendering correctly with Batchserve

the tail is based on springs and yes, they do rely on previous frames.
Plotting would be the only answer, other than rendering sequentially. If you
render sequentially then you'd need to be sure the scene was saved at frame
one, else you'll get a twitch as the frame counter goes from the saved frame
to frame one.

It's possible you could work around this using a script to render rather
than -r. I'm working on something that does this right now. If I get
something together this weekend that works I'll bung it over for you to
test.

Subject: V4.0 Tail Not rendering correctly with Batchserve

Hi all,

I have used the tail in a dino that I re-rigged - coz I wanted to use the
new tail, now all is cool untill I need to use batchserve to render using
our small render farm - the tail twitches like crazy - obviously each render
machine is picking up a frame, and the tail is then calculated incorrectly
since the dynamics seem to be based upon the data from the previous frames
in real time i.e. playback - any way of getting around this, other than
rendering on one machine!!

Thanks

Sandy
