link deform with orientation

hello list,

just a quick question about linked deforms,

Ive gone through the docs over and over again, and followed the steps
outlined,
however i cant seem to link deform my bicep muscle object to the forearm
bone rotation the way i want to - I cant get the deformation to happen
without keying the weights - Is there a way to have this deformation
occur interactively, as i rotate the forearm bone as i please within the
viewport - im sure there is...

I think I might be doing something wrong, if anyone can lend a hand that
would be great :)

I can get the deformations to feedback interactively if i connect the
rotations with expressions by hand, but im really after the quick link
deform method :)

PS - on Linux using XSI 3.5.1

thanks in advance,

timkl
