And to add to what Colin said, your ultimate solution is _exactly_ what I'm
doing in the demo I provided the link for. I have the Flash sprite (or the
QT sprite) on stage but then "crop" that part of the stage from the user's
view in the browser. The advantage to the on stage approach is that you can
have the SWF executing ActionScript that affects the SWF's image (animate
movie clips, use the AS drawing API, etc.), whereas taking the image of a
member while updating the poster frame won't (the sprite is not on stage
therefore it's not playing and so it's internal AS is not executing).

Both are options for you to use, each has costs and benefits. Try 'em both
and see which works best for you.
