As for the trim/positioning thing, do the scenes coming from 3.5 have the
PlayControl In set to 0? I don't know if it's directly related or not but the
first thing I thought of was the new Parent Clipping feature. This sets clips
to the same duration as the parent, which if it's the scene root will be the
PlayControl In/Out.

After discovering some days ago at work that Xsi v4.0 loads Xsi v3.5.1
scenes and trims / positions at frame 0 their mixer audioclips (for some
unknown reason), now it seems that Xsi v4.0 doesnt start playing mixer
audioclips until "PlayControl.Current > 0". Is this happening only to me?
Repro:
Add an mixer audio track, Load a mixer audio clip into that track, position
the clip at, let's say - 100 and hit play from frame -100: The sound starts
playing after frame 0.
