I got a scene with a furry animal (~250 000 hairs) rendering from XSI crashes alot!
I 've tried exporting an .mi file from a scene with an amount of hairs that always crashed first frame dHow can I increment a parameter value in an expression? Something simple
like this.param.frame + 1 does not work since the value of
this.param.frame will be always the initial value in this case 0 Hello all

Hi. I just joined the list and wanted to introduce myself. I 'm a freelance

Does anyone know a way to frame a free camera? I want to generate a free

I am starting to script in xsi but I cant figure out if I should use
vbscript pythIf you sketch a curve no command is registered in the history pane. I 've
found a command that turns sketch mode on and off but haven 't found anything
that starts a curve or knows when a user has fiHi All

xsi has a spdl and its a softimage format that mental
ray cannot read spdl files. Which would mean that nodes

Anybody know how to use this in JScript? Reading the docs it says
that you must use siUIFilePath to set the path to the BMP file to be
used but it does not explain how to use siUIFilePI 've just noticed something extraordinarily tedious.
Loop settings are reset if I change layout into compositing.
Can we change it please.

HaHow does one disable a custom menu item? I have a JScript plug-in that adds a custom item to the "File " menu. When the menu item is selected the plug-in displays a dialog box. I want to disable thOkay this is driving me nuts. Has anyone else seen this behaviour and

What can be done to optimize render stability in XSI?
We are talking a scene with 50 some thousand polygons roughly 40 materials
no textures larger than 2048x2048. Fairly small and I am trying to put a custom parameter set in my viewport so I can edit them
with virtual sliders.
I managed to get them to display on the screen and I am able to edit them
by marking the checkbox OK...somehow things are working now.....
I think my brain is at the bar already.

the dirtmap shader works for rendermapping...
so.. you can in essence rendermap ambient occlusAnybody else noticed that XSI completely locks the program when crashing
since 4.0? In the past we have been able to manually use File >Save As
